The mountains were filling in with verdant new growth along Petrified Forest Road, so I stopped to lay down in a grove of redwoods. The late afternoon sun highlighted the epicormic branching of the blackened redwood bark. The fluorescent greens filled in the charred remains during the first spring after wildfire. David T.
