“Everything was black after the fire,” echoed the early morning hikers at Trione-Annadel State Park. On the contrary, the first spring season presented a luxurious swim among an array of orange poppy State flowers sparkling over the hillside. Verdant leaves danced onto the vacant lower branches of the oak trees, while the limbs grew their separate ways toward the setting sun, and to retire into darkness. –David T.
